Bio

I'm Ms. Erspamer and this is my first year teaching at Auburn Elementary School. Before this, I taught K-8 music in Detroit. Believe it or not, when I was the same age as Auburn's students I did NOT like to sing.
It wasn't until I started playing the trumpet (about 16 years ago) that I really fell in love with music. Playing the trumpet helped me meet some of my closest friends, favorite teachers, and best mentors. It also helped me go to college at Michigan State University, where I received my undergraduate degree in music education.
While I was at MSU I got to play in the Spartan Marching Band, Symphony Band, Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Orchestra II, and a brass quintet. But even more importantly, I learned that there is so much more to music than just playing the trumpet...and I even found out that I DO like to sing. I enjoy continuing to perform throughout central and eastern Michigan with the Five Lakes Silver Band, but sharing the joy of music through teaching is where my heart really is.
