Video of last year's 5th grade class coming soon!
At the beginning of the school year, each music class worked together to make a word cloud of their favorite music to listen to outside of school.
If a word is BIG it means a lot of students liked it.
How to make a word cloud:
In fifth grade, students get to play UKULELES. This opens up exciting possibilities for performing songs and harmonic accompaniment at the same time.
In fifth grade students get more opportunities to work in small groups on collaborative projects in music class. These projects may include creating rhythmic arrangements on percussion instruments, coming up with choreography for songs we've learned, songwriting, and composing movie music. We also have several desktop computers which allow us to explore producing music digitally.
In upper elementary we begin exploring different musical genres and artists in more depth in music class. Outside of music class students can participate in Mystery Musician challenges where they use clues to discover who the famous musician is each month.
